There will be an absolute wankfest if we go away at Liverpool and win. The postmortem of yesterday's game rightly has people pissed off, but it also allows several posters to vent their frustrations and talk utter shit, in this case like the opening piece.
We have quality players in our starting XI. We've lost two games on the spin and won one away at Arsenal.
The panic on here sometimes after a defeat mesmerising. I'm not shocked for one minute that we got turned over by a Bournemouth side that have played together in the same system for a while and who're coached by one of the best minds in England, certainly the current best English manager.

We played well for about 10 games whilst all the top sides were in transition, and before we'd played any of them bar Man City. Think people forget that we lost our first two home games last season as well.
When alls said and done, that was a long time ago now. A more relevant indicator of ability will always be recent form than the form of a year ago

This squad is extremely weak and requires a bare minimum of three top quality starters to give us a chance. Our starters and subs bench yesterday is the only evidence anyone should need that we are in urgent need of investment.
That being said, our manager had a mare yesterday and did not help matters at all. He still has to justify his massive wage by getting the best out of the players at his disposal, and he is not doing that.

The squad has won 4 of its last 24 games since then. I'm not seeing much 'potential' there.

Not sure you can put the errors by Cresswell and Jenkinson down to them not coping with the system. They were basic unforced errors.
I do agree with the notion that the club has not (for many years) had a settled playing style that players are recruited to fill (Southampton and Swansea have done very well in this respect). Further, modern players at this level must be able to play in a variety of roles (with a few specialist exceptions). We should not be bringing in players that can only perform in one role. An example yesterday was Gradl whoo can perform out wide or more centrally whereas our wide players have tended to be one-trick wingers.

I'm far from convinced about our signings so far in this window.
Payet is obviously good. Ogbonna seems like a good player so far, but if we can't afford to strengthen further up the pitch, then it seems like money wasted.
We are desperately short on quality in wide areas. This is being shown up massively by playing a narrow midfield.
We need to forget about buying Song, and focus on buying players that will allow us to play with more width. We already have Noble, Kouyate and Obiang to graft in the middle of the park.

Amazed to say that I agree with Alex. This squad has massive potential, as was shown by us being 3rd last Christmas.
The fullbacks aren't coping with Bilic's new formation and he needs to deal with it.

Not of width. Two guys in front of the back four.
We started badly last season too and a sudden change in formation and introduction of players had us flying.
I have to say Bilic shocked me a little yesterday but I'm just hoping he realises his mistakes and change will be for the better

Lacking quality is not simply saying individually our players are better than their Bournemouth counterparts but is having the necessary quality to undertake the specific role that is required of them in their respective teams.
Messi might be the best player in the world but ask him to play centre half and you might think Collins is a better player than him.
So for me that is why I would also say we lack quality because we consistently never seem to have the right players available to perform the in the roles that get the team to play the way we set out to whereas teams like Swansea or even Bournemouth usually do.
All these points to player recruitment and development and the club having an identity in a style of play that drives this, though it might be fine to point the finger at BFS for being culpable for a lot of these failings the owners must equally share the blame.
A lot those issues can be fixed long term but in the short term to give the manager that time the only answer is to recruit more ready made solutions and that means bringing in the players we need now otherwise we might as well just re-employ BFS with this squad as it stands.

How many players do Bournemouth and Leicester have in that 'class'? Not as many as us I would wager. This is a red herring.

Well your right he deserves blame too, but what i see is a team that is simply performing badly and low on confidence, the defending has been ridiculous, Bilic does not tell them to defend like that.
He is still finding out badly in my oppinion who his players are or maybe even learning that the players he has cannot perform what he wishes.
